Overview
Cancún is the city at the north end of this coast and the airport most arrivals use. The hotel zone is the barrier island; the residential city is on the mainland. Schmidt & Co sells here, and not in the inland capitals.
Lifestyle
The hotel zone is beaches, lagoons, and a long boulevard. Downtown Cancún is where longer-term residents shop, go to school, and live away from the strip. The two are a short drive apart and should not be treated as the same search.
Real estate
Hotel-zone condominiums with beach or lagoon frontage, and houses and apartments in the residential city. This is a different market from Playa del Carmen, Playacar, and Puerto Aventuras.
